About Us
We are an award winning practice of architects and building technologists working from design-led studios in Emsworth. The firm was established in 2003 and has a great reputation in architecture and design.
When a new project starts, one of the Directors [Martin Helyer or Thomas Davies] will visit the client free of charge and discuss the client's needs and what we believe is possible on the site. We will then return to the office and write a detailed fee letter. We do not operate on percentage fees. The practice is registered with the RIBA and appropriately insured.
When working on a project we believe that good architecture is only created through a close dialogue between client and architect. Normally once we have listened to and hopefully understood the client's requirements we develop a design that we think answers the brief. This is then discussed with the client and the designs are modified in an organic process until both the client and us are happy with the result.
We employ various mediums to demonstrate our concepts. These range from simple freehand sketches, 2D computer plans, 3D computer models, watercolour elevations and photorealistic renderings/photomontages.
We can discuss your project with you and make changes to the computer models so that you can see the effects of the changes on the screen in a realtime 3d environment model. REVIT 3D Computer Model [Quick Editing]
We like to use the 3D capabilities of the computer as a design tool rather than a presentation tool. Once the model is built we can set cameras up and view any perspective that we choose. This is particularly good to demonstrate a scheme to a client.
WATERCOLOUR Presentations

These are used to demonstrate schemes for planning where we are trying to demonstrate how well a scheme fits in with the surroundings. The soft hand crafted drawings seem to reassure concerned neighbours and planning committees.
TECHINICAL Information for Contractors

2D Cad drawings are used to explain how our designs technically work. This can be to clients during the initial design stages or to contractors on site who need detailed information on how to physically construct the project.
PRICING Information for Contractors
Once the Technical drawings are prepared and the engineers have had their input the information can be issued to a Quantity Surveyor or direct to builders for pricing. Most clients want to use the Tender Process where we get competitive prices from builders, whilst others see the benefit of negotiating with a contractor from the start of a project. Both methods have their advantages.
SITE WORK
When a contractor has been selected we draft the JCT Contracts and carry out site works and certification of works so clients know that they are paying the correct amount to the builders for the works carried out. Some clients prefer to run their own projects on site and we are quite happy to sit in the background only being called to site if there is a variation to the works or a detail that needs our input.
We also visit the site after the building is finished and you have been using it for either 3, 6 or 12 months and help resolve any issues that have arisen that need the main contractor to return to site.
